The curriculum is designed around a real-world workflow originally performed manually by the instructor for a former employer. Participants will build a Power App using Microsoft Power Apps to monitor tasks associated with houses under construction, with data stored on SharePoint for simplicity. Additionally, the course demonstrates how to use Power Virtual Agents to configure bots within Microsoft Teams, guiding users to locate documents scattered across various SharePoint sites, such as loan agreements, budgets, and sales contracts. These bots are particularly valuable for HR and IT teams in managing repetitive inquiries. Learners will also set up simple flows in Power Automate to capture attachments from specific senders—such as bank inspection reports in the course example—and create additional flows to save Microsoft Forms data to SharePoint. The course further explores fully automated processes using the approvals feature within Microsoft Teams. After completing the app, bot, and flow, the final step involves creating a Power BI report. Power Automate is then used to send a snapshot of the latest completed tasks every two weeks to a designated recipient (the bank in this scenario). This report requests a drawdown, including the task completion dates and associated budget amounts, all collected via the app. While this course offers a high-level overview, learners are encouraged to leverage ChatGPT for technical tasks, such as coding or formula creation in Power Apps. The course includes a demonstration on effectively utilizing ChatGPT to assist with Power Apps formulas.
