About This Course
Over the course of five days, this program equips you with the essential knowledge and skills required to plan and manage a Microsoft SharePoint 2016 environment. You will learn how to deploy, administer, and troubleshoot your SharePoint setup. Additionally, the course provides guidelines, best practices, and strategic considerations to help you optimize your SharePoint deployment.
This course is the first in a two-part sequence designed for IT professionals and aligns with the SharePoint 2016 IT Pro certification.
Audience Profile
The training is designed for experienced IT professionals interested in learning how to install, configure, deploy, and manage SharePoint 2016 installations, whether in a data center or in the cloud.
Typical participants possess over one year of hands-on experience* in planning and maintaining SharePoint, along with two years of experience with core underlying technologies, including Windows Server 2012 R2 or later, Internet Information Services (IIS), Microsoft SQL Server 2014 or later, Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS), and networking infrastructure services.
The minimally qualified candidate typically:
- Is an IT professional responsible for planning, implementing, and maintaining a multi-server deployment of SharePoint 2016.
- Has a working knowledge of, and preferably hands-on experience with, SharePoint Online.
- Demonstrates broad familiarity with SharePoint workloads.
- Has experience in business continuity management, including data backup, restoration, and high availability.
- Is experienced with authentication and security technologies.
- Has experience with Windows PowerShell.
* The hands-on or job experience should be from a solutions-based role where the candidate has worked on multiple solutions in the SharePoint space, including document management, content management, and search.
